I found a swivel housing but the square "O" ring on the 86* factory thermostat is not cooperating with the recess in the housing.

Did the one you bought from S & P come with a O ring and did everything seal up OK?

That was a couple years ago, and has not had any coolant yet.
I will try and remember to remove it tomorrow and see how its sealed. i seem to remember a problem with the thermostat and think I got a new one i will look thru receipts also

Yeah I didnt make it to the shop today, thinking I might try tomorrow.
Looking thru receipts I only found the one from Street & performance, and did not find a receipt for thermostat.
I did find a swivel thermostat I bought from Summit that didn't fit and was returned

Made it to the shop for a bit today
I got the drivers door installed, need more adjustment and finishing.
I shortened the wiring for right side O2 sensor wiring.
Got my new windshields form Auto city, installed into new seals with the original trim.
I will try and install winshields.

Well had an appointment with glass guy for Saturday and he didn't show up so windshield did not get installed.
I did get the throttle pedal installed, shortened the wiring to the pedal and finished it up. Got a spot for mounting the OBDII connector, under dash to the left of column. I didnt get pictures but will post some tomorrow.
I also got the underside of the front fenders cleaned up ready for a Por 15 coat, same process that was used on bottom of cab will be used on underside of fenders front and rear.

Well bummer about the glass guy. Look forward to the pics Mike. If you can, please show the throttle pedal mounting...looking for ideas on mine.

Advance Design,
Here are a few on the pedal mounting pictures. The pedal and bracket it is bolted to came from GM with the connect and cruise kit. I added about 1/2" of spacer on the upper left mount.
I also stole the mounting washers for the bolts from youngrodder, looks better on the firewall. wish I would have planned better and welded studs and brackets to firewall prior to painting. I think I will bond whatever I need to do in the future to limit holes. The wiring from ECM to pedal and OBDII connector runs up behind pedal. I'm going to have to reposition the brake pedal pad to the left for clearance

try it on your own, its not even a 10 minute job by yourself! most of the time on mine was getting the glass fit in the rubber, thats done!

I think I might try installing the windshield, Glass guy flaked again on Thursday.
Today I installed the windlace on the drivers door opening. not too bad.
I've been using mostly Steele Rubber products and seems to be good quality.
Hope to get some more done this weekend.

Good. It isn't difficult. Maybe an extra set of hands would be good.

Are you familiar with the cord / rope installation procedure?

Adavance, I am familiar with the rope procedure, Not sure I've done it except help (watch) when a kid with dad.
I might wait a couple of weeks till he is here and see if he can help install it. I do have plenty of other stuff to do besides the windshield

Just a few things done today, little odds and ends. Installed seat frame, Bought a headlight switch from Classic, installed. Worked on right door windlace, about half installed. Final clamp on fuel line at frame. here is another picture of the pedals, you can see I will have to move the brake pedal pad for some clearance.

I watched the guys put my windshield in. They were
very experienced and made it look easy....
but there was three of them and they had a system
down pat.

Is your windlace the type that slides in the channel?
If so, what did you use for lube?

I noticed you have a sued steering wheel,I just picked one up for a customer and when they drive it the dye comes off on their hands!
You may wan't to spray it with a sued sealer (water proof ) type of spray.
Just a heads up.

yes the windlace is the type that goes in the channel. I put it in dry. When I started it on the drivers side used 3M Dry Silicone spray, but since I read often not good when it comes to any painting I didnt use it. It is a product we use often in the shop.
I used what we call a "Bone Tool" weatherstrip tool and just moved along at a slow pace. I didnt time it but I would think about 45min-1hr to install completely. I will get a picture today, I think I will head down to the again today.
Reaper, I never heard that before. Is that common or just certain ones? Do you have a brand of sealer? I havent had any thing coming off so far, but havent driven, just moving around.

I can't answer that for sure...I picked it up from Speedway. When I called them on it they pulled 3 more of the same brand and model and the same thing happened.
John (customer) used a furniture spray,not sure on the brand.

Here is the "bone tool" used, hard plastic and just using to push into channel, working well. I tried sliding seal into channel but it only worked on the back side or the door since it was straight and channel has to be in proper shape.

I got a coat of POR 15 on front fender undersides. cleaned up a rear fender

Well i think I'm going to head down to the shop today and play with the truck.
I got parts in for upper radiator hose, silicone 90* elbow, a 90* elbow that reduces from 1 1/2" to 1 1/4" in silicone also. then I got a 90* aluminum elbow. once i get everything cut I got a bead roller for the tubing. I will put up a picture of other pieces and a finished product of upper radiator hose.
I had my aluminum cut to size the other day for mounting electronics and fuse panel under seat. I need to get it mounted and along with electrics
