No reason really, other than its cool. He may have had to lengthen it for the pusher axle, but more than likely he did it because it looks cool.

I thinks it look goofy. I use to drive a truck that was really long, not that long, but still long and it had the widest turning radius I'd even seen. It was a pain in the A**

You really need a better picture. Those look like cell phone shots to begin with, but the worst part is the shadow. You should not be on a same side as the shadow.....back to the sun...
