Re: 1983 Chevy lwb slow build

Dunno the exact color, but I picked it to look as close as I could to what it was before. It might be a bit more of a lighter blue, but not sure yet.

Thanks, I think the color is actually the factory light blue color from the 73-80 trucks.

Thanks man, Brownwood is located pretty much in the center of Texas. About an hour's drive from Abilene. It's a smaller city.

Re: 1983 Chevy lwb slow build

I know it's kind of sudden, but I have decided to trade the truck for a 98 trans am, so I'll have to end the build! Here are some pics of the car.

Re: 1983 Chevy lwb slow build

I wondered that myself. You had just got it into a nice driver. Well, I also have a TA so no judgement here. Once you have a truck you always want one after that. Especially if you had a square, you always gotta have one. So buy a cheap one and start over.

Re: 1983 Chevy lwb slow build

A question: I saw your tachometer in the early pictures. Was it installed with the pivoting arrangement? I.e. it moved back and forth with the auto-trans shifter?

Re: 1983 Chevy lwb slow build

Been a long time since I've been on here. Lots happened since I was an idiot and got rid of this truck... graduated college, been working in IT for the past ~9 years, got married, bought a house, sold it, bought another one... and... tomorrow I'll FINALLY be getting another one of these trucks. I'm excited to start working on it! I'll take some pictures when I can.

Re: 1983 Chevy lwb slow build

Well I finally got the truck and took a picture of it. Maybe I'll start a build thread for it someday soon. It definitely needs a lot of work. For now, here it is.
