What is this??
This came off the drivers running board of a 1950 GMC. It was about 3/4 towards outer edge and just in front of the door when it was open. It has a light in it that faced backwards. Not even sure if it is GM. Any info would be helpful.

License plate light, but I have no idea why someone would have put it on the running board. My GUESS is to see the running board before stepping out onto it.
