Re: Project Rise 'N Shine

Ok I need some help. Should I powder coat or paint the frame? I'm thinking black frame rails and tangelo for everything that's tubular. Suggestions please.

Re: Project Rise 'N Shine

What I'm going to do on mine is paint the frame and powder coat all of the crossmembers, trailing arms, etc. That way if I ever need to do some work on the frame (God forbid I change my mind--- which I never do ) it won't be so much of a hassle.

Re: Project Rise 'N Shine

Powder all the way!

But in all honesty, I'm not sure what REAL difference it would make either way? As long as I don't have to do the work (HATE PAINTING) and the price is about the same, I'm not sure which to choose. Although, powder is supposed to hold up better, and on a driver, I'd say that's important.

Re: Project Rise 'N Shine

Ok I guess it's update time. Got all the hard lines, brake lines and fuel lines ran. Exhaust done except for tailpipe because I'm not sure if I'm going to bring it through the bed sides or not. Decided to change direction on the transmission so I picked up a 4l80e. The only down fall with this trans is I have to cut the floor more and raise the high hump even more. I'll have more pics tomorrow.

I think I'm going to do the frame rails silver vein and all the Porterbuilt parts and crossmembers orange but only if they can get it close to tangelo orange

Re: Project Rise 'N Shine

The powder coater texted me a pic yesterday, got started on my stuff and should have all my orange parts done by the end of the week. Then I'll take my frame rails and rear diff to get done.
