I am looking for a drive shaft measurement from a 2WD burb if anyone has a moment.

What transmission? There has been a few in these trucks. There have been TH350',s, TH400 fixed yokes and slip, 700R4's and 4L80's. Also these are two peice drive shafts in most and I think some of them had the croassmember that suports the carrier bearing in different locations.

Ohh yeah the rear axle may play into this as well. Thye had 12,s 10,s 14ff's and 14 SF's

I have been searching and posting to try and find a cheap one piece DS as a donor to replace the 2 piece in my 71 pickup. I measured 61" from center of U-joint to center of U-joint. I want to get a longer shaft and cut it down. I am trying to do this really cheap because I hope to swap out the 307/th350 with an LT1/4L60e this summer ...to build a new shaft cost $250 but they'll cut one down for $50+. . . besides, it will be the wrong length when I swap drivetrain and when Im done I can maybe pass it along to another 67-72 PU member who is running a SBC/TH350 combo ..

4l60 is longer then a TH350. You will be able to cut it down a second time.

Check mid 80's Doge full size vans from the mid 80's. I think (not positive) that they had a single peice aluminum shaft. If the U-jopints are the same size then you can just swap the correct yoke on and be ready to go.
