tires have to grip so they can hop. put those old 275/60s on and burn them up.

Re: 1980 C-10 Low buck build.

The long leafsprings and staggered shocks do an excellent job of controlling wheel hop. However leaf wrap up and squat are bad. Get rid of squat and wrap up with Caltracs and I'm sure it will plant them skinnies much better

Re: 1980 C-10 Low buck build.

i would like to do that on mine. one day. we just picked a 65 elko last night, also got a free 250 with a power glide and a 327 that just needs an intake and valve covers. i told him to build up the 327 for his truck and put the big block in the elcamino

Thanks. Theres always more work to do.
Up next...

Intake, Headers, then full 3 in exhaust, Relocate battery to frame behind passenger under bed, cut out wheel well to allow for an in-bed spare, 4" cowl hood, patch that passenger fender eventually...., putting in the solid rear window, NEW TIRES, and somewhere down the road...when all that is done, paint. Thats just a little preview of whats to come.

Re: 1980 C-10 Low buck build.

OKAY TIME FOR AN UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!!

Wrapped my wheel

Got a little toy with a PA. :]

And here is the antenna.

Gotta add a little rubber grommet.

Sectioned my front crossmember 1.25 inches.

Drilled the lower control arm rod holes back .5 inches for better caster gain.

Rag joint delete. Also used to clear the now raised upper control arm. Still working on the bracket, just mock up for a pillow bearing thats on its way.

Shes sitting pretty low now. Trans is maybe 5 inches off ground, same with pinch weld. OH YEAH, 275/60's all around!!!

Hey thanks a lot.
Spent 16 hours working on it yesterday.
Tank is vented, rear air shocks mounted with custom shock extenders getting welded tonight. Then gotta do the exhaust which should be easy with these awesome headers.

Re: 1980 C-10 Low buck build.

How are you going to cover the strato bench? Corbin's custom or DIY?
