remove all of front suspension as unit

Just wanted to ask if the front suspension can be removed as a unit. From looking at the way it is assembled it looks like it can be removed as a unit. However I also want to make sure I don't take a coil spring to the face. Thanks

Yes it can. Remove the bolts holding it to the frame including the idler arm, pitman arm, and engine frame brackets. Disconnect front brake line from the combination valve where it connects to the front junction block. Depending on the year, your combination valve could be mounted on the cross member. You will have to determine that. If the truck has an engine in it the engine will have to be blocked up after the other jack stands have been put in place under the frame. Just be sure and leave enough room to slide the cross member out.

I may have forgotten something so I hope someone else will chime in if I did.

Re: remove all of front suspension as unit

Thanks for the info Lockdoc and HO455. I have the truck stripped down to a rolling chassis so access is not an issue. Since I can't go anywhere I will work at getting it apart. Thanks again

No problem, keep us up to date on how you are doing on it or if you have any problems with it.
