Nice 1978 on ebay

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Chevr...c20c5941#v4-42

Something is a little funny about it though. Bottom tailgate band is on upside down, the lower bed panels don't match in color, something is really strange about the pass. bottom cab alignment with the bed. Other than those little things, it seems beautiful. I like the color combo for sure.

Re: Nice 1978 on ebay

The lower trim is pretty noticeable upside down but other than that I love that truck! Green on these trucks don't look well to me but for some reason I just like it!

Nice truck,
The bed maybe off a newer truck. I don't recall dual fuel doors on a SWB in 78.

Re: Nice 1978 on ebay

79 was the first year for the fuel doors. Did a lot of research on that before I bought an 84 bedside for the fuel door.

Re: Nice 1978 on ebay

It's a nice truck but has had something done on it. Notice the fender trim screws on the front are aged and a little rusty, but the rear ones aren't. There appears to be some green overspray inside the wheel wells and the lower paint panel certainly looks a shade off on the bed. Still a good looking truck.

Lacking the toggle switch for fuel tanks?

No where near all original. What about the '79/'80 hood?

Re: Nice 1978 on ebay

This is what i see: fuel switch hard to tell with the ash tray open. Window cranks look ok. steering is a replaced wheel. Over spray solid paint on the vin plate (drivers door)

.
It looks like a truck i would consider bidding on.

Re: Nice 1978 on ebay

its a nice truck but I really don't think its all original like the listing states

"The paint on this truck is near perfect. There is no rust or bondo on this truck at all. All body lines line up great."

some of the body line are off and the lower green has two different colors that's not near perfect at all, its nice for 34 year old

If the guy that bid 7k knew his trucks he'd never bid, I don't see 5k sitting there just from what can be seen in the pics, and we all know pics can be deceiving even without a false description. Imagine what you'd find in person.....

Re: Nice 1978 on ebay

Pass side cab corner looks highly questionable as to whether or not their is a decent amount of bondo there to me. The fact that he claims "no bondo" on a 34 year old vehicle would make me wonder anyway. Even good body men use body filler. They just don't use it beyond its intended purpose.

Re: Nice 1978 on ebay

Someone please help me understand the whole "one owner" nomenclature....

Wouldn't "one owner" be the original owner?

He states "...only has had one owner since 1978!". Then he says "...I purchased this truck from a dealer friend that took it in on trade from the original owner.".

That makes him the third owner, according to my math.

:??:

he's a dealer so it mean that it has not been titled by him or the other dealer who got it from the "original owner"

OK, Both had ownership....A title is only "Proof" of ownership. These guy's being dealers can drive any vehicle without a title transfer, Who knows either didn't for a year or two, wrecked it then had it pieced back together ?

Re: Nice 1978 on ebay

That guy is full of it, every sentence in that auction is an outright lie and the pics prove it. You can't say they paint is perfect if obviously doesn't all match, and you can't say no rust if there's a bunch of rusty rock chips. Looks like an older fixer-upper project that someone is trying to get rich off of.
