Hey Guys,

Finally ready to start completely redo'ing my chopped '55 suburban I started 20 years ago and finished about 15. Looking to bag it, new wheels, new interior for now...then will go to the motor again and do a turbo LS most likely. Most of the things I wish I had done by the time I was done with the project, but just weren't happening when we started in '95.

Have a few questions:

1. Any bagged sub/panel guys here who can show me how you did the back floorboard when completed? One thing I can't lose is back seat space and that's a concern of mine. This thing has two kids seats in it at all times for my 2 and 4 year old (this is the car I got to keep when the kids came)....and my wife uses it for grocery store runs, etc so I can't lose a ton of space.

2. Looking to go 18's upfront and 20's or 22's (most likely 20's) in the rear. The car is tubbed so I can get quite wide but don't want a super low profile sidewall. When we first built it, it was on if I remember 305/50r17's (which they no longer make, so i'm stuck on 285/60's).

But I wanted tos ee if anyone is running a 305/45r20 and could show pics, or a 315/35r20.

Also, i'm debating between the Billet Specialty Bonneville G's or the SLD89's. These two have been in my head for almost a decade and I just need to pull the trigger. My boyds are trash, 2 bent, 1 out of round, other one won't balance for sh*t.

I had planned on bagging it first, but the shop I want to do the work is booked up till fall. So I'm going to do wheels first.

Well, I haven't made a wheel selection yet and my Burb is a 48 on bags. I don't know if 20's will fit, though you could take a peak at how I did my floor. I only used a c notch in the rear instead of a kick up. So much yackity yack in my build thread..my fault...you could start at the end and go back a few pages.

Probably someone with a Task Force Burb will weigh in.

Chizzler built a very cool AD Suburban with a kick up. He may chime in and I will look for his thread. Youngrodder is going the Porterbuilt route on his AD Burb and has a good build thread going.

On my burb we made the rear floor section out of metal. Im running 6.70-15 firestone white walls.

Here is what I did. Added 3 1/2 inches width to the tubs and built the bubble in the middle of the floor for differential clearance when aired out.

A seat will fit over the bubble and I am not going as low as Chizzler. Just a c notch in the frame.

I believe this one was built with a C notch. The builder also built my chassis.

Hey HB,
This is what I'm doing. I replaced the floor with new wood. Thought Id just make the hump with wood but really didn't like that look. I had a sheet metal piece made but have to put it in when it warms up. The photo is just to give you some ideas...

theses are a tad bit wider the the 305's but 18's and 20's

dig it, i built out side compartments (one side holds two batteries, the other a compressor, and then storage above). I think i can get away with moving the floor up 12-18". Just need to keep it flat as this thing gets filled with all types of random junk.
