Sending unit solution

For those of you relocating your tank under the bed and wanting to keep your stock has gauge I have a cheap solution. My tank going under the bed is a 69 Nova tank which has a 90 ohms sending unit, with the factory system in the truck being 30 ohms this would not work. What I have done is taken the sending unit from my new tank and taken off the ''transmitter'' part. I then took the transmitter off the 30 ohm sending unit and bent and cut the float arm to exactly match the 90 ohm float arm. I then tacked the modified 30 ohm transmitter onto the sending unit for the new tank and soldered the electrical connections then took the float from the 90 ohms unit and put it on the 30 ohms unit. I tested with the multimeter and it works. Be careful when welding not to put to much heat on the components or they may not work.
Here is the 30 ohms transmitter shaped the same as the 90 ohms one.

No I don't have a pic as the tank isn't in it right now. But being a 60-62 frame it is wider in the Rear than a 63-72. Even with this exra width it still hangs below the frame 4 or 5 inches so it might be visible if you have a stock bumper but the bumper that I have hangs a bit lower so its not really visible. I'll post a pic when the tank and bumper are on, should be a couple weeks.

Don't have a pic right now but I'll take one soon. I used a piece of angle iron as a crossmember behind the axle so I could hook the front of the tank straps on and I used the spare tire crossmember to mount the back of the straps to. Keep in mind this is on a longbed so theres quite a bit of length in the frame which allows more room. I also did modify the frame rails a little
