Re: project teacher

Looking good Gary and Kyle!

Do you think that cooler and location will be enough to keep the trans cool? I did the same on my son's truck and ended up burning up the clutches on his 4l60e...just a FYI...

That's not what I wanted to hear! After talking to a couple of board members, I was under the impression that it could keep it cool. I bought the largest one they had and got duel pass. Thanks for the heads up, I'll have to keep an eye on it.

I wasn't trying to scare you, I know that Keith Stevens has done quite a few this way. I don't think the location of the cooler was all that made the trans overheat. I think my son had more to do with it than he admits...

Re: project teacher

Caution:Threadjack! Karl, make sure the angles on your TV cable install at the carb are all good. Additionally, make sure your convertor is locking/unlocking correctly. Either one being out of whack will kill a 700 in short order. Clinebarger on here is Jedi master level on trans stuff. You probably know all this just my .02. This concludes today's threadjack.

Teacher looks killer!

Mine was a 4l60e so no cable. I believe that the convertor locking/unlocking was a bigger culpret of the overheating...

Very nice choice of seats.. Paint will be coming soon!! You can't rush this part of the build. Plus Gary's truck has a lot of mods going on with it..
