My "Toys" House

So we built a little shop last year. I saved for 2 yrs to build it, and paid cash for it. My wife is very suuportive of my hobby, and I am a lucky man.

Ok, we built a 24x36, 2 bay, shop. I have a loft thats 21x10 up above for storage, a small bathroom, small work area under the loft.

I did insulate the building for future heat

Momma made me put a porch on the shop for her rocking chair.

Framed in the turlet.

Very cool! I like the floors. What did you use? I'm still debating on doing mine when I finish construction.

Re: My "Toys" House

I used the Rustoleum industrial epoxy floor paint. you can get at either lowes or home depot I think. Buy a little more than you think you will need. You wont have to be so stingy with it at the begining. Under my stair case is very thin, and there is none in the bathroom. And I used every friggin drop.

Re: My "Toys" House

So the building is 24 deep. I wanted as much space over the work area as I cound get. So I built a beam 24 ft long to span the support. Its (2) 2x12s with a peice 3/16th steel plate sandwiched in the middle.

The supports on each side of the beam are just temp. I have 3/8 thick round post supporting them now

Don't get me wrong, I'm so happy I have it, but if I had the space, I would have built a min of 30x40

So here is the final product. his was taken before the floor was painted and the Loft was put in. But the outside is done. Only thing left is to add gutters

Re: My "Toys" House

I was forced to put the brick on by the city. It added about 2500 to the cost, but after it was done, I'm glad it's on there. I like the way it turned out.
