Exactly what I was planning on doin. Throw em up on ebay or here on the site at a discount. Atleast recoup some of my cash.

Next on my list is to plumb the front, (STILL HAVEN'T DONE THAT!) and shim the upper a-arms and get it aligned.

I know I posted the rear shocks here somewhere, maybe not the front. The fronts are Monroe stock replacements.

For airline routing I drilled a hole in the backside of the crossmember.

So where can I find a new spindle nut and keyed washer? I went to Oreilly and they didn't have anything. I called Napa, dude said his computer only goes to 73 but he has two in stock for that year. Will it fit on my 72? I brought the other new spindle with me to work, I'm gonna go by there and just try it out. Hopefully it's the same thing.

Update: Ok so this part isn't so easy to track down but Dorman sells a reproduction part.
Dorman part# 05141 there is no washer included.
The measurement for the nut is 7/8-14.
It doesn't appear to be the same nut used on the 1973 c10 which measures 3/4-20.
This is the best I can do, good luck.

Try the biggest Ace hardware store locally they usually have those hard to find fasteners.

The 73 takes a 7/8-14 and my 72 takes a 3/4-20, I THINK. Reason I say a 20 is I just tried a 3/4-16 and it's too coarse, so a 20 pitch sounds about right.

I just looked at the package from Napa, and it says it's for a 4x4. Now I'm thinking he just sold me the wrong one.

To sum it all up, I'm gonna say it's a 3/4-20. I will let you all know as soon as I figure it out.

I'm going by the results I got from Advanced auto parts, but I will look into it a little further and see what I can find out, between the two of us we should be able to figure this out.
I will update my findings here on this post.

Update: I went to Dormans website and they say the 3/4-20 is for the 1973 spindle, I'm still looking into it.

Update #2: Some auto parts stores carry the "Dorman - HELP!" kit's and the 3/4-20 spindle nut kit is one of them part# 04993, give it a shot and we will know right then one way or the other.
Take your original nut with you so they can get a electronic caliper I.D. measurement off of it and this may go a bit smoother.

These things right here are WONDERFUL!!! best $6 I have spent in the bolt department. I use it ALL the time! Mine even has a pitch gauge on the back.

It was in fact a 3/4-20. Dude at Napa was able to find it much easier once I told him the thread size. It goes on cars/trucks from 1963 up to something like 1988ish, (from what he said)

The "Dorman - HELP!" kit, 3/4-20 spindle nut kit part# 04993 comes with everything, Nut, washer and pin.
It seems like that is the best route to go.

Yep, I just googled that haha, Oreilly has them. Dumbass at the counter, THANKS!!! I could have had this done yesterday.

Here's the part # and "kit" I got from Napa today: Napa part # 630-1523. Same thing, nut, washer and cotter pin, $7.

Time to slap it all together.

Mike how did the installation go, are you rolling again?

It went great. I had it all buttoned up in about an hour. And guess what? You were right about packing the bearings, as soon as I started doing it I understood exactly how to do it. Got em jam packed and rollin smooooth. Still kinda unsure on how much to tighten the nut though, but I think it's close.

Gonna pull it into the shop this weekend, tighten and check everything, plumb the front bags, shim the upper a-arms, etc......

Well I got new wheel bearings on both sides now, and also put a 1/4" worth of shims in the upper a-arms. Front camber is much better now, time to get it aligned.

Couple issues, first is my windows are still fogging up really bad, it's like the air is blowing a film of some sort onto them. It got so bad on the way home I had to pull over cause I couldn't see! Only thing I can think of trying is to clean the windows real good, but I don't see that doing it. Dang I thought I had that fixed.

Second is I've blown 3 fuses on the main power to my compressor since last week. I was on the same fuse since last year no issues, now 3 in a week. I'm leaning towards a bad pressure switch as I recall it not wanting to shut off at 180psi when I first fired it back up. Strange though, do pressure switches go bad?

Mike when you did the rear shock mounts why didn't you just bolt the shocks to the stock lower location like that guy did in his post? I am thinking about trying to make a set of the upper mounts. You think it can be done with a cut off wheel and a bench grinder?

The holes in the lower mount were smaller than the new shocks I bought. Plus I prefer a stud there holding the shock rather than a bolt. It just worked out that way for me to be honest, it was either go find bolts/spacers/sleeves or mount that stud and call it a day.

I definitely think the uppers can be made with your tools.
