Those of you with TPI.
What are you using for a thermostat housing? It looks like mine may not be angled quite right. I don't have it installed yet, but was hoping to get the problem fixed before I am ready to install the TPI.
Are you using the stock housing? Or one from something else?

The orig t-stat housing will interfere with the throttle linkage as it points out towards the fender.
The orig. TPI t-stat housing is too small to reuse the orig upper rad. hose.
if you use a hose that fit's the orig. TPI housing it will be too small to fit onto your stock rad intake.

I used this one from carquest.
The application is for a 64-78 Chevy truck with a 327ci engine.

It orients it in the same direction as the TPI t-stat housing but it the same size as your orig. t-stat housing.It enables you to reuse your orig. upper rad. hose.

New housing in place.

I made my own upper rad hose by cutting up my orig. one and useing the different angled pieces to make up a new one.

Thanks BobbyK, I am running the engine-driven fan, do you think I will have clearance? I guess the fan shroud would keep it out of the fan but I don't want it rubbing on that.

Good call on the 64-78 housing, I was able to make the original TPI housing work by sliding the larger diam. hose over the smaller diam. hose and then clamping tighly around the water neck. Your way is much easier. My fan is engine driven, I used flex hose from NAPA. Seems to work fine even with two (nearly) 90* bends.

Are either of you using the stock wiring harness? I am not using the fuel pump switch on the back of the engine, the one that hooked up to the oil pump sending unit on the Camaro. I am guessing that I can just hook those 2 wires together so it always thinks that the switch is closed, but I don't want to be wrong.
I would use the switch if I could but it used an electric gauge and I want to use my stock oil pressure guage.

I ran a 30 amp relay to power up my fuel pump.I don't have the oil switch you describe.
Oh ya.A reg fan setup would not work with the way I made my upper rad. hose...it would definitly rub against the fan if you didn't have a shroud.
