Re: correct (stock) firewall holes???

I would like to know this too! I have holes I don't use.
And would like to use the right one and weld up the others.
I'll get some pics later.

Re: correct (stock) firewall holes???

There is one hole next to the AC unit that needs to be welded up I think. Atleast it looked funny on mine.

Re: correct (stock) firewall holes???

WOW VetteVet........this is great. I really really appreciate the info. Betweek you and 75 customer camper this is very good info. One questions.......looking at your pic and looking at the hole to the left of the throttle linkage, on the other side of the indented area that is over the tranny, what are the correct holes in that area? I have about 5 holes in that area. Thanks a lot.

Re: correct (stock) firewall holes???

Well I went out and looked at the firewall on my 67 that I'm re-doing and there are also 5 holes in the area to the left (passenger side) of the throttle mount. These are small 1/4 to 5/16 diameter holes and the one in the center of the trans hump has a sheet metal screw coming from the inside of the cab. I'm guessing it's a heater duct mount. I can't get in to look until I can roll the truck outside the garage. the two on the far left have rubber plugs in them. Those are about a foot apart vertically. Anything else was empty. You are not refering to the heater core housing mounts are you?

Re: correct (stock) firewall holes???

if you'll look at Matthulham's pic he sent you will see the grommet on the right side of the pic that has three wires/hoses coming out of it...........this is the area where I ahve a big hole like he has then I have abut 4 others anywhere from 1/4 to about 1/2" in dia.

Re: correct (stock) firewall holes???

My 67 doesn't have the large hole with the grommet where the wires come through but there is a dimple there and the small holes have the 2 rubber plugs in them. The others are just open. HTH
