Glovebox woodgrain ?

What is the best way to remove the wood grain decal from the glovebox without scratching the paint ?what holds the Cheyenne emblem on? I want to put a new one on to match the new instrument bezel. Who makes a good replacment with the chrome around the edge?

If it's an original woodgrain trim plate (not a glued on replacement decal) then you have to pry the entire trim plate off. It's attached with some super adhesive and if it's like mine, it's fairly hard to get off without bending the plate. I used a stiff paint scraper to work in behind the plate and got it off after a little work, but still bent it some. I bought my replacement at Chevy Duty for $39.00. It is almost identical to the original but the grain color is very slightly different than the original and the holes for the decal did not match the holes in the glove box. The emblem is attached with compression studs - I don't know if that's the right name but the studs just press into the holes and are held in by tension.
