LMC? Anyone ever have issues?

Would anyone here think 2x about buying any part from them? Fitment issues with grills, hoods, fenders, etc.. Seems like the parts are priced fair, didn't know if it's because they cheaped on making them.

Would just appreciate some thoughts or maybe experiences with them, thanks

Re: LMC? Anyone ever have issues?

I've never ordered anything from them because they were always significanly higher than other catalogs I have. Can't comment on the quality of their parts...

I've ordered from them a few times. The prices are higher, but they have just about everything in stock.

They are ok. I've found them to often be lower priced than other vendors, but you don't get any service, just talk to an order-taker.

Re: LMC? Anyone ever have issues?

I have spent close to a thousand bucks with these folks, and have never had any major problems. I have received a few parts, that the quality was not as good as I had hoped for. I think its important to know, that most of these company's get their parts from the same manufacturer.

I have only ordered a couple of minor things from LMC but they can be slow about getting back to you on shipping charges, etc.

Re: LMC? Anyone ever have issues?

There are several threads on this issue. I personally give LMC a 50% rating.
Half the parts I ordered worked perfectly, the other half didn't fit right.

Re: LMC? Anyone ever have issues?

I have ordered a few hundred dollars worth of stuff from them. Everything is re-pop so you have to expect some fitment issues on bigger stuff. All of my purchases have been accessories, gauges, mirrors, and trim. Everything worked fine, nice quality for the money, and fast shipping. The only thing that has not worked was a temp gauge I bought from them. Has to rule out everything else before I determined it was the gauge itself. I would still use them again.

Re: LMC? Anyone ever have issues?

Their catalogs are great for the parts diagrams, but I've only ordered from them when I can't find it elsewhere. No problems so far, but there are several members here who have had problems...

Re: LMC? Anyone ever have issues?

Over the last 7 years I've spent close to $5000.00 between body parts and other items between 3 trucks. Some of the parts I've gotten from them required minor adjustment, others fit like a glove.

Quality wise I would give them an 8 out of 10 but thats comparing them to what was original in the truck not comparing a different vendor.

Price wise shopping around never hurts but I felt they were ok.

Technical service a ZERO.

Returns service or customer service for a defective parts 10 out of 10.

The body parts I bought from them 7 years ago are still in good shape considering where I live and the lack of knowledge I had when i installed them.

Just my experience, not an expert opinion.

Re: LMC? Anyone ever have issues?

I buy a lot of parts from them because I live close by & buy over the counter. The selection is great & everything is in the huge warehouse. The parts are usually good quality. The prices are in line. You have to have more than 1 catalog though. Some places have parts the other doesn,t.

Re: LMC? Anyone ever have issues?

I bought a bunch of stuff from them at one time
Only one problem
I bought right and left window regulators
I could not get a crank handle to fit on the passenger side and I tried like 10 different handles. I finally just put the old one back in which all of the handles fit.
I even had a friend of mine check it out and he came to the same conclusion.
There was no handle that would fit on this new regulator
When I sent it back I gave them a call after they had received it and talked to a guy to see what the deal was and if I could just get a refund.
He stated that there was nothing wrong with my regulator so no refund and that he would send it back with a handle for free. He made me feel like I was on drugs or something
When I received the regulator and handle it was not the one that I had marked before sending it back.
I would also put them in the 50 percent category due to lousy customer service
Hey just tell the truth

I've never gotten anything from them that fit properly, customer service is NILL, and they've screwed up 2 of my 5 orders.

Re: LMC? Anyone ever have issues?

The parts I've gotten from them on this and other trucks are probably 8/10. Now the frequency in which they send catalogs, that rates right up ther with JC Penney flyers!.....

Re: LMC? Anyone ever have issues?

I haven't had too many problems. Everywhere else I've ordered I have problems with fit on parts as well. They do have a lot of parts that no one else has, and everything has been shipped pretty quickly. I ordered dash bulbs from Brothers and it took them a month to get them to me. I'll use LMC more, no problem.

Re: LMC? Anyone ever have issues?

ProjectDD,Just so you have some options,I would suggest you check the vendors that support the BB.Most will have comparable pricing, much better customer service and all of them build trucks also. This means they use what they sell and will probably sell only the best fitting highest quality parts available. On top of all that they have been vetted by the BB members as good honest dealers. There are reveiws boards to look thru. One other consideration is location, especially on larger orders one of the vendors here may be close enough that you can pick up your order and save shipping.
Just food for thought.

Re: LMC? Anyone ever have issues?

they have cheaply made parts. Compared to gum ball machine prizes.I bought a dash gauge bezel that looked very cheesy. The door arm rest are already loosing their finish. The blue dash pad was warped and cheaply made,I installed all of the parts and it looked better, probably saved a bunch of cash compared to original equipment,For the money they are as good as any competitor, NOS is too expensive.LMC and most of the rest really have low quality parts at a good price.

Re: LMC? Anyone ever have issues?

I ordered from them once. A bunch of seals, vent window rebuild kit, some patch panels, etc. Everything was fine except for one item. The lower/rear bed patch (behind rear wheel arch for a long/fleet) was missing the bodyline that runs along the edge of the wheel arches.

When I called they acted like I was an idiot and told me "We sold hundreds of these and no one else has complained." They finaly offered to take it back at my shipping cost... Never ordered from them again.

I personally got a steel cowl hood, and two new fenders from them. Decent quality and fit ok with adjusting. I plan to get a tailgate and inner fenders from them also.

Re: LMC? Anyone ever have issues?

I have ordered a lot of parts for them over the years for my '67 - 72's and for a '78 GMC I used to own and I have had good luck. As far as parts not fitting correctly, I can't say they've been any worse than Year One, The Paddock, or Classic Industries. The reality is that most of the repop stuff is about the same from everyone with a just a few exceptions.

Re: LMC? Anyone ever have issues?

I have only bought from them one time. At that time, I had a question about a wiring diagram that I felt should have been included with the harness I bought from them. So, I called their number and got some girl who didn't know crap from shinola about my question.

If you're gonna be in the business of selling something, you'd better be able to answer the customers questions or risk the wrath of the public.

I learned that some of these parts folks just do drop shipments, and don't stock very much. I realize that profit is the name of the game, and they're entitled to make a living, but it ain't gonna be at my expense.

Re: LMC? Anyone ever have issues?

I've spent more there than I care to admit, didn't know about the vender's here and i would use them first now. I always had good luck with the parts. The trim around my window was missing one clip and they sent me a complete new set. I always ordered on line so didn't really deal with their staff.
