Under Frame Leaf Springs
Has anyone relocated their leaf springs to underneath the frame on a 1955 - 59 Chevy?
I know you can buy a kit for the mono leaf but would a set of camaro or late model truck leafs work? If you have this on you truck lets see some pictures. Jeff |

i've never seen them under the frame , but ive seen leaf springs moved to the inside of the frame rails . the guy had a narrowed rear end and some big micky t's out back with the bed tubbed out

There is someone that has posted pics of their 47-55 with the springs moved in under the frame. Hopefully they will enlighten us.

grab the hangers and all when you get the springs! no reason they won't work relocated under the frame. take the center to center measurement from the camaro and remount the springs on truck frame using those measurements.good luck.

I think there is a kit sold that moves them under the frame...so I can't see why it wouldn't work. Just got to get the correct spring rate.

Well here is my solution to keep it low. I cut the rear of the frame off & welded a 2" x 2" square tubing to which I bokted the rear hanger. The best springs for these trk iare from a Mopar s.w.(fifth ave.)
