Re: Driver side door lock....anyone?

why not just use a remote entry lock setup? my 98' grand cherokee had that setup and seems to work smooth. bet you could rob a setup off something in the boneyard. that way you could keep the key on passener side in case of dead battery or malfunction.

I think you can use any 47-at least 59 guts out of the handle. I have key locks on both side and there keyed the same as the ignition and glove box.

Oh, and you can find new kits anywhere or get them out of a deluxe cab.

It may be difficult if you want to keep you stock handles. I'm going PL to fix it as my '54 doors were ditched to have a 1 piece window.

Re: Driver side door lock....anyone?

I also wanted a drivers side key lock and installed the lock before I discovered the latch on the drivers side is different from the passenger side and is missing some important parts for the key lock to work. I had previously done this on a 56 F++d pickup and it worked fine. I don't know of any kits for this modification. I've purchased an extra passenger latch and plan to see if I can add the needed parts to the drivers latch. Just haven't had the time to deal with it lately. Let us know if you discover a kit.
