Finally got er done. Took me almost 8 hours (3+ of that was fighting those rivets off) working alone..

Not hard, just time consuming and a PITA in a dirt driveway. Managed to only draw blood once and not hurt myself too much either!

Ya know. I look at those caps and I picture a 66 and know they belong on a 66 but on yours they are growing on me. It's different. Like TT2's are great and all but are so common anymore it makes painted wheels look that much better. IMO

Mounting them was simple.

Removing the stock ones... Friggin 3 hours.

4 rivets... I had an air hammer and a cutting disc, too. Apparently my 90psi 20k rpm stuff was weaksauce compared to 1970 engineering...

Those new springs may settle down a wee bit after a few hundred miles. It may be just me but it looks a little bit lower in the rear than the front. I bet it still rides good though.

You're not done yet! Get your wrenches back out and turn those upper shock relocaters around. It shouldn't take but a few minutes to swap em around, you've already done the hard part. The part where the shock goes through should be towards the back of the truck. The way they are now you're shocks are a bit too horizontal to be very effective.

Yea, it does a tad... I am thinking a few days sitting should help...

Hmmm, instructions said the longer hole (the slot) on the mounts faces the rear of the truck... I re-read that thing like 5 times... How the HECK did you get the bottom mounts nut out? I couldnt get that for the life of me.

I helped a friend remove a few rivets and they are tough. We got a sawzall in there for a few but the rest had to be torched/ground off.

That 2/4 drop is a very nice stance for your truck. Going any further wouldn't look good. I really don't like the ground scaper look any vehicle, especially a truck....always makes me wonder why anyone would do that.

Pic 14 shows the upper bracket with the hole for the shock towards the back of the truck. I'm not sure what you're refering to about removing a nut from the lower bracket? Elaborate a bit for me and I'll do all I can to help you out.

see ten is correct. Your lower brackets look fine. Just unbolt your upper brackets and rotate them the opposite way and your shock will become more vertical

heh - I never got around to it today. Not really hurting anything sitting there.. I can swap that with suspension loaded, too right?

looks good. im having trouble figuring out what kinda drop i want, thinkin 5 inch coil drop in the rear and get the coils cut in front for now, later getting some drop spindles and disc's. how does it ride? bit stiffer than before?

springs only..

ride is very nice. A lot better road handling and bump recovery.. No longer feels like shattering panes of glass on bad bumps...

truck has less rattles now too thanks to this

Looks great! I'm getting ready to place my order on the 2/4 premium drop as well. In hind sight, would you approach the rivets differently? What did you find as the most effective way of getting them off?

If I had drill bits made for metal, it would have been easier. Also, drilling/cutting/grinding while on your back SUCKS. I have a burn mark on my face from a hit piece of metal hitting me.
