GMC V-6 info

Hi All,
I'm new, and reading the various boards got me interested in the GMC V-6s. Anyone know where I can find on-line tech info on them? Do they share any parts with the bigger old V-6s that were used in busses and dump trucks and such?
TIA
Dave

longhornmail,

Cool site. I wish it showed pics of the internals, such as combustion chambers. Thanks much though.
I didn't know they made a V-12.

Btw - I checked your 425 caddy powered site. Fyi - you might not know, the heads off of that '71 472 are 20cc smaller chamber than your 425 heads [76cc vs 96cc]. If your 425 is 8-1 CR, they'd take you to 9.3-1 or so.

Yep...that's the main reason I am holding onto them. One day I plan on doing a little work to them and slapping them on there.
In rality, they will probably sit on a shelf in the basement untill I die.

It is really too bad Chevy didn't adopt some of the ideas off of this little monster...I lovew the way the spark plugs go into the heads on this thing...it just makes so much sence.

And as far as the twin 6.... DROOOOOOOOOL

One of my friends just got a '63? GMC schoolbus with either a 305 or 351 V6 in it. If he dosen't use the V6 for a truck pull truck, i may be able to get it for pretty cheap. It dosen't run, and i have no idea what i would do with it, but it would be cool to have.
