Shift Indicator Fiber Optic...where does it plug in?

...I have a replacement put into the column, but I can't figure out where the other end is supposed to plug in under the dash. One of the bulbs for the dash seems like a good place....

Anyone know?

As you are looking at the dash, I believe it goes into one of them on the bottom right side??
If it even matters which one I am not sure??

While we're on this subject: the indicator that shows what gear you are in was missing on my truck when I bought it in '91, so I made one from red plastic, and it works great, but with so many other things to do to the truck over the years, I have never really paid attention to it since, so are there, or were there, any options concerning the pointer? Before anyone calls me stupid, I'll dig out the catalogs and look (now that I am thinking about it). What I am curious about though, is it flourescent (which I assume it would be to work with the fiber optic feed), or how does it work with the lights on?

Well, from what I know there's two different kinds. One indicator is shorter and points throug a shift indicator that's smaller, metal, and has a different shaped lense. Those I believe are '67-'70. '71-'72 have a longer sloping indicator with a plastic framed lense that's larger and in my opinion easier to break.

I've had several auto columns and that's one difference I remember well. The metal ones you have to find used, but the plastic ones for '71-72 you can buy aftermarket or through GM.

Thanks for the pic, and the heads-up for where to plug this thing in. I'll check it out tomorrow.
