Motor Mounts Chevy Truck

Can someone identify the year of these mounts? I thought they were 72's. Some say they are 73s and up.

Re: Motor Mounts Chevy Truck

The frame that I bought as (67-72 Short bed) would have been a 73 or later. These mounts came from that frame, so what is the difference between those frames and will the cab and other body parts fit, if that was a 73 or later?

Re: Motor Mounts Chevy Truck

some people install the '73 up mounts on the 67-72 frames.... can you post some pictures of the frame, and we can help you identify. Added a couple of pics of 72 only BB mounts.

Re: Motor Mounts Chevy Truck

Thank you for the pictures, now I understand. I have seen several listings of 73s being represented as 72s.

Re: Motor Mounts Chevy Truck

Look closely at the pictures that my67truck posted. The 72 only big block mounts have one raised ridge on them, the 73-87 mounts have two raised ridges. That's how you can tell the difference.

Your frame looks like a 68-72 unit. I am basing it on two things. 1) I believe I can see the crossmember for the trailing arms in the edge of the picture. 72 was the very last year for coil rear suspension 2) a 67 frame wouldn't be dimpled for the power steering box like yours is.

Here's a better picture of the rear of the frame.
