my 99 V-8 swap

had 2.2, bearings went out, mocking things up... got Trans-Dapt 9906 mount kit and Hedman shorty direct fit headers #69520 kit. massaged the fire wall some on the pass. side to clear flange. looks like drivers side it good. steering shaft goes through the drivers side header.

thoughts? advice? pointers?

Re: my 99 V-8 swap

Go ahead and trim the ears off the trans bell. If you ever need to unhook the headers it will be easier. Those two studs hanging from cab floor make a nice place to mount a driveshaft safety loop. Pull your carpet back and mount some of that heat reflective stuff under it from the firewall back about 1/2 way on the floor. The headers will cook your feet on long trips. Don't cheap out on your cooling system, go aluminum water pump and radiator. You'll be glad you did. That's all I can think of right now.

Re: my 99 V-8 swap

a word of advice on the AC compressor. do NOT buy reman. you might as well get a used one. same quality and cheaper. I recommend getting the Sanden replacement unit. I did mine and will never look back. get the compressor kit. it comes with ICE32, the compressor, correct oil, accumulator, and all O rings/seals.

I got mine from T & A service here in SF. ~$275
