Re: 63 C10 one piece windows

people are going to be excited about that!

I personally like the vent windows, but thats because I don't care for air conditioning.

If you can do that up as a kit you would probably make a mint wholesaleing it to the truck parts vendors

Re: 63 C10 one piece windows

I'll definitely do a write up soon and add it to my build thread. The quick and dirty though is I bought the one piece glass from Vintage Glass in Atlanta and then bought the power window kit for a 55-59 chevy from specialtypowerwindows.com. That kit came with a front guide and already has the pivot element engineered in and I modified it slightly so that i wouldn't have any binding issues. I still have some tweaking to do on the guide alignment and i'll need to do a bit more work on the weatherstripping but i'm pretty happy with the result!

Re: 63 C10 one piece windows

I have not been working on mine for some time, but my design tilts back as it drops just like that. That's the only way to make it work on 60-63.

He says it's alot of work, but we can do it. You had to take your window channel out right?
So I see you are moving the Door Handles foward and customized it.
Have not seen anyone do that before.
Doesn't look bad.

Re: 63 C10 one piece windows

Is it necessary to suicide the doors to make the swinging one piece work??

I don't have mine apart, just wondering if you need every possible millimeter of clearance to swing it forward and the hinge bolt or door stop might possibly interfere. ???

Anyway, U Da Man for pulling this off

It should work fine with the hinges stock. There is quite a bit of room forward of the window on the '63. If anything the suicide doors complicated the process.
