Got some tools and wanted to brag alittle

So I have started a side business doing street rod interiors...I do some other things also, but my love is in custom interiors...I've got a top and bottom box from Snap-on at work and it's full of Snap-on tools...so I figured I needed to stock up at the house if I was gonna start doing interiors there also...so I went to meet with the Snap-on guy and came back with my early Christmas lol...These tools will get me started at the house and then I can work from there...I have a couple of things at work that I'll be bringing home to add to this...So here's some pictures of the tools I got today...

I also got this tool cart...it's actually quite large for a cart more like a rolling bottom box...I didn't get it in red though...I got it in a special edition flat black with red anodized trim on the front of the drawers...There's an old school pinstriper in town that is the bees knees when it comes to stripe artwork and I think I'm gonna have him do some work on the front of the box and the lid...I also have a top box at the house already that will store some of the tools also...

The Snap-on guy also gave me some freebees like he took $200 off the tool cart, $100 off the 3/8" air ratchet, $50 off the 1/4" air ratchet, and he also gave me a $250 instant rebate....one other freebee that he gave me was this Snap-on diecast dragster...it is DETAILED...man it's nice...

Re: Got some tools and wanted to brag alittle

hmmm you sure you want me to tell ya...they're mostly Snap-on with a few Blue Point tools thrown in the mix and a Snap-on box...let's just say I could have finished the Crew Cab project I just got with the money...

Re: Got some tools and wanted to brag alittle

$422.23...I got a discount on it though...my Snap-on guy just went to a huge show down in Florida and got me some stuff while he was down there on huge discounts...so it would be more than that...I think retail is like right at $500...also they are not Snap-on, they are Blue Point, but they carry the same warranty as Snap-on...if they were Snap-on that box would cost 3 times that...lol

Re: Got some tools and wanted to brag alittle

i bought that same blue point set but mine came with a full set of plyers for free as a bonus. they had some kinda sale on it. I put my set in the tool box in my truck. As a mechanic... I live by my tools... i coulda bought a brand new duramax crew cab for what I got in my tools and box..... it sucks when you think about it.

I finally got the box and I'm really happy with it, but just like you said, it filled up fast...I still have stuff I need to put in it...I think I'm gonna take the air tools out of the bottom drawer and put them in the bottom of the cart...here's some pics because I know everyone likes pics...

the box is flat black with red anodized trim on the front of the drawers...I need to get corner protectors to cover up the stainless carriage bolts...they stick out too much for me...there's a kickass pinstriper in town and I think I'm gonna have him do some artsy thing on the left of the lock and have 'Stitch' hidden in the stripe art somehow...I'm gonna talk to him at least and see what he can do...

sorry for the crappy iphone pics...

Re: Got some tools and wanted to brag alittle

It sure makes you feel good when you have nice tools and a nice box to keep them in. I keep my tool box clean and organized. I can tell when something is missing just by opening a drawer. The best piece I have bought is the Snap-on stainless steel top for
my box.

Re: Got some tools and wanted to brag alittle

I need to talk to the snap on guy about getting some corner covers for my cart I just got. If things go well, I'll probably turn in my top and bottom box at work and get a larger bottom box with a stainless top. I really like those tops alot. The black cart I got is alot larger than I thought it was going to be. Just filled up way too fast. But I have a top box in my garage that I need to clean the junk out of and then I can use it too. I'm planning on making a cutting and sewing table and I'm gonna set the top box on the table in one corner. And the sewing machine will be cut and fitted into the table on the opposite diagonal corner. I have all the plans worked out how I wanna do it and all. Just gotta get our kitchen Reno done so I can get all the kitchen stuff out of the spare room so I can get the spare room furniture moved out of the room that I'm going to use for sewing and back into the spare room. We moved the spare room furniture out of the spare room to make room for the kitchen stuff lol.
