What are your plans for your truck this year?

I recently picked up a gas mileage truck so I can get really stupid with the 68 as far as engine mods go. I have a few things I'd like to get accomplished this year . Mine are in their proper order ...

1. New heads. I'm looking at the pro action 200 cc lightning heads with 64 cc chambers to give me 11:1 compression with my domed pistons.

2. 4.30 to 4.88 gears. Havent decided which yet .

3. 4 Wheel disks . The old drums work great but I figure I can get 4 wheel disks done for $500 or so which is budget.

What are your plans this year ?

Replace cab
custom stereo install with 2 12" subs
TPI Fuel injection w/ Holly commander 950 contol module and ported intake, plenum and siamesed runners.
Paint
Ball joints, front springs and power steering(have pump and steering box need to find bracket)
Possible Manual 6 speed conversion or 700r4
???Maybe convert short bed to long bed??? any done that conversion yet?
A/C conversion(stock or aftermark)

Mainly I want to get this up to being a nice daily driver that I won't be ashamed to have parked out front but that I wouldn't be afraid to haul around parts or my race car.

Mine should be all performance upgrades, depending on how much money i make this summer. I plan to replace my stock heads with either a set of 65cc bowl-ported 2.02/1.60 GM heads, or a set of Vortec heads, add a Performer RPM intake manifold, H-pipe on my exhaust, stage 2 shift kit to the tranny, and possibly a Comp XE262 cam, and fix all the oil leaks while i have my motor apart. Then the truck should be running deep into the 14 second range, which would give me bragging rights over some fox-body mustangs, 3rd gen Camaros, and most rice burners .

Well?

I'm instaling a new Optima battery right now(waiting for paint to dry). Then later this evening its going to the body shop.

Cargo light
Removing front and rear glass. (Checking out front and puttting in different rear slider)
Gonna paint the frame and axles
Sand and buff fenders and doors
New Carpet
Upgrade stereo
Aftermarket gauges
Maybe a new front bumper if I get that far.
Etc..........

well first I need to get the passenger rocker replaced and the cab mounts redone. Get a new mirror and get the heater working with new defrost ducks! Then its time for Mickey Thompson classic II's 16/8 and 16/10 and bfgs hopefully before winter! Going on a cruise and need to save money!

For sure install new engine.

Maybe install front disk cross member.

If I install the crossmember, I will install the 72 rear end I have, and power brakes.

Wash it. LOL

Hopefully finish the body and paint, install the fresh .040 350 and 350 Turbo. Get the little stuff I need and have on the road by May or June.

I would like to paint the bed, and finish the interior. The interior needs:

Sound deadener and carpet,

door panels

a new dash interior

a dash pad

lights in the instrument panel, I wish I could find these someplace

and heater controls, I am plugging and unplugging the fan to work my heater.

It should not cost too much to do this. - Ted

Upgraded my HEI two weeks ago, am prepping Performer intake and cast rocker covers today. Looking for a rebuildable seat to replace the quad cab seat, will also bet shoulder harnesses. Power steering pump rebuild and rebuild the AC before summer. Hopefully this fall will allow me to start the frame-off on my 52.

1) Paint
2) fixing all the little quircks that go with replacing everything with aftermarket crap.
3) lower the back more and c-notch? Dad probably won't go for that one.
4) Fix the annoying little whistle that I have while driving. This should actually be first, but whatever.
5) Finish interior upolstrey.
6) power locks on tonneau cover
7) Hood lock of some kind.
8) Get a job so I can do all this.

Enough, I am started to druel on my computer again. shoot.
