Cheap Ideas
We all know how these truck projects can quickly become expensive.
So in a quest to do more with less, let's hear your cheap ideas. I'll start off... Teardown of the D60 frontend began this past weekend & I need to keep up with little parts & get things cleaned up. I also really have a weekness for snack foods, and the store has these yummy mini cookies for $1 each. So eat the cookies, then use the container to keep up with parts you don't want lost. The housing was very nasty with 25+ years of dirt & grease everywhere. So while buying the cookies I went down the cleaning aisle & picked up a few cans of oven cleaner & some toilet brushes. The brushes are perfect for running through the axle tubes.

Re: Cheap Ideas
Here's a cheap idea that I use regularly. Does everyone know what Im talking about when I say christmas light remotes? I call them that because I see them most around the holidays. You plug them into your light strand, then into the wall, and they come with the little on/ off remote. They normally run around 10 bucks. Anyhow, I always keep one in the shed. Its pretty handy for turning things on while your still inside the house. Right now mine is set up to operate the overhead shop light, which makes walking out there in the evenings over uneven ground a bit easier. Running one to a heater or fan would probably work good too.

Re: Cheap Ideas
i use vinegar for rust removal/ at about $2.50 a gallon cant get cheaper
i use GOJO for alot, cleaning seatsespecially leather, cleaning up wire harnesses and hoses under the hood if it moves i'll spray liberly with WD40 to clean old dried petfified crap then follow up with white grease to lubricate//doors hood latches wipers linkages, pedal pivot points etc etc cleaning up contacts on bulb connection and a slight coat of dielectric after clean// everything electrical needs a good ground all this not hard to do with sandpaper or scotchbrite pad
