New to Forum - 59 Apache Australia

G'day.
After much searching I have found the truck for me, and the forum with which to share it.
Picked up a 59 Apache 3100 from an importer. She's an ex-Texas truck, LA build, with a Flint 327 small block. Info gleaned from VIN, and engine number searches.
I don't have much more of her history.
In good nick. Took a little bit of work for compliance with local regs.
A/C, MP3, power steering, 6 bolt hubs.

Now for the obligatory pics.

Love the stance.

Tidy interior, B&M shifter.

Edelbrock goodness. Looking to put a bigger air cleaner on.

Side exiting exhausts gone, now out the rear (local regs).

Plans
1. Move fuel tank out of cab to chassis rails ? fore or aft of rear axle.
2. Redo interior - want a bench seat with sculpted 'buckets' and arm rest/third seat. Lap/sash seat belts. Storage. Upgrade speakers with sub.
3. Have fender spears, located one NOS at filling station, bought second off ebay.
4. ?colour change to red.
5. IFS (probably further up the list) handling needs it!

Have personalised plates on order, US style, 54LFC (I have a soft spot for the Liverpool Football Club, 54 was the only number I could get that was close to relevant 327 being 5.4L).

Look forward to getting involved.
Cheers
Scott

Re: New to Forum - 59 Apache Australia

Thanks for the welcome guys.
I will need some help identifying all the modifications on the truck.
Also need the name of the patch panel I will need for an area of rust aft of the front passenger side guard. Will chuck up a pic when I get the day under way.

Re: New to Forum - 59 Apache Australia

thanks for that. I have been reading truck mags for a while, so have come across most of the US sources. Assumed it would be as with my sedan, much cheaper to get parts from USA than locally.
