Cab mount mounting hardware ????

Ok so I did the search and couldn't find an answer, I installed my new C10 mounts on my C20 cab but ran into a problem. When I installed the bolt that goes into the bottom of the cab it is completely bottomed out but the bottom rubber piece never compressed. It will spin slightly by hand. I assume this is not right and am wondering what to do. I know I can put a stack of washers on it but not sure thats the right way to fix the problem. I went to Home Depot for a zinc coated replacement to my O.G. bolt a while back and they had nothing like the bolt for the C20 mounts so I'm not confident that they will have anything similair to the C10 bolt. I tried the C20 bolt but it is too short. The rubber pieces are in good shape and are not mashed down and distorted at all when not installed so I am at a loss. Any help appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Re: Cab mount mounting hardware ????

i just changed my mounts from c20 to a c10.. i got new cab mounts and the kit came with the hardware. i had to remove the original nut and replace it with the one in the kit. the nuts are in a small housing under the gas tank i removed them and put in the new one......... you can see one from the passenger side

Re: Cab mount mounting hardware ????

Perhaps I should have specified my whole kit came from an original 66 C10 so the bolts and hardwar were for mounting in the original mounting hole. I did not purchase an aftermarket kit so do I need to drill everything out and go in from the top?

Re: Cab mount mounting hardware ????

If you areusing original hardware and the bolt is bottoming out in the nut, you must be missing a plate or washer somewhere. Is this on both sides? Maybe if you could post a pic of what you have in your cab mount assembly, we can see if something is missing.

Re: Cab mount mounting hardware ????

What height is does the cab sit off the frame?
Do they give you a measurement in the kit?

Re: Cab mount mounting hardware ????

The reason I'm wanting that measurement, is I'm thinking about making my own perch.
I think $80 is a little steep for a couple of brackets.
Here is mine since the original rubber has separated from the perch:

Re: Cab mount mounting hardware ????

I don't have any C10's that are assembled. Would the measurement from the top of the frame to the top of the rear mount bracket do you any good?

Actually, I see now that aero went back and edited his post to say 1"+.

But yes, if you could get me that measurement it would help.

Oddly, the measurement on the schematic he attached and this one, both show the brace itself at 1.06.

Re: Cab mount mounting hardware ????

But then again,
this appears to show the mount bracket at barely over an inch.
I bet the bracket is as the schematic shows it and should be mounted at 1.06" above top of frame.
Here it looks as the measurement I'm looking for is around 2" (top of frame to bottom of cab support)
Honestly, it isn't that critical. I'll mount it slightly low. I can always ad a plate spacer or two if needed.

Re: Cab mount mounting hardware ????

2.12" looks to be the height from top of frame to bottom of cab support:
