Boss 338's
Has anyone purchased Boss 338's in the last few months? I'm curious if they addressed the front dust cap issue.

From what I just read a set was just purchased and installed on one of our trucks within the last few weeks...the dust cap issue was solved....but the more pressing issue....hub fitment...hasn't been....still have to machine down or grind off the hub on the brake rotors for the wheels to fit on.

In my case it was extremely simple, I took a flap disk grinder, loosed the wheel center nut, and spun the rotor to get an even taper.  I do however have an issue with the dust caps, either they take a lot of "friendly urging" to fit into the rotor, or they are too large. I've read a bunch of threads about the dust caps, some folks have the older style that fit into the wheel itself, mine are designed to fit into the center of the rotor hub itself, and they feel like they are a few mm too large.

Use a 1/4 inch spacer and new lug nuts and it will bolt right up. I had zero clearance issues. And, the quarter inch spacer helps push the wheel out a little and looks better.

Mine didn't have to be ground down at all except to get the cap on. The wheels fit fine. The only issue with mine was the back tire scubbed a little when it bottom out. 1/4" spacer, deep thread lugs and a tad more air in the helper bags solved all that though!

I purchased some 338's in 20x10 and 20 x18 back in August they had July mfg dates. On, my 72 I did have to clearance the hubs and dimple the dust caps.
So, no Boss has not fixed the issue on our trucks.

My wheels are 8.5" up front and 10" out back. Didn't have any problems with the hub at all on the fronts they fit like a glove. The end of the hub was barely ground to clear the o-ring on the cap to sit right.That was it.
