driveshaft help

I've got a 71 swb c10 with a 350/350. I don't have a driveshaft for it. Well, I have one out of a 6 cyl 3 speed. The front shaft on that driveshaft doesn't fit my transmission. Could I swap out the front yoke for one off of an automatic driveshaft?

Any driveshaft shop can swap out the yoke for you. Go to Inland Empire Driveline. They have a guide for measuring your driveshaft because you will need to provide the desired finished dimensions to the shop you take yours to. Here is a link for Inland Empire:

I used to live in Orlando and Advance Driveline on Carder road is a good place I have used.

Re: driveshaft help

So if I find a turbo 350 driveshaft I could swap out the yoke, and then have it cut to length?

You won't need a turbo 350 driveshft IF yours is longer than you need to connect your new trans to the diff. . The driveshaft shop will put your shaft in a lathe, cut off the trans end with a parting tool and install a new yoke that fits your trans and rebalance the shaft. It'll cost about 50.00 for the TH350 yoke (it's a spicer 30 I think) and the machine time to get the shaft to the correct length. Shouldn't cost much over $150.00

Re: driveshaft help

Go to junk yard and find drive shaft out of a Chevy truck with a 350/350 combo. And yes the three speed yoke fits a th350. I have the two piece driveline from a three speed and it had a th350 on it.
