05 tahoe lost power to seats and r windows

I have an 05 Tahoe and suddenly lost power to the Seats and the right windows. I found a TSB (TSB 05-08-143-001) Says something about problem with the Brake Pedal Position Sensor.

Any body know anything about this?
I could really use some help

My 05 silverado recently did something similar except it lost all power except the drivers , ended up being the body control module, think it was around $700 parts and labor at the dealer

Re: 05 tahoe lost power to seats and r windows

bottom of power distribution panel (under drivers dash) has 2 circuit breakers. I can't remember which one, but it feeds those items. both breakers are fed power from a (IIRC) 40 amp maxi fuse under the hood. I have a customer with the same vehicle and his I have narrowed it down to wires chafing under the driver's seat. It only acted up when his wife drove it and moved the seat.

That TSB only applies to the "Adjustable Foot Pedals Will Not Recall to Pre-Selected Position and/or Heated Seats Inoperative". Check the "MBEC1" fuse
in the underhood fuse block for being blown. If so, check the harness between there and the I/P relay block for chaffing. Buddy

Re: 05 tahoe lost power to seats and r windows

I've been looking around on Service Information and found this

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

#PIT3075D: Blown MBEC 1 Or LBEC 1 Fuse - keywords circuit door electrical inoperative lamp IBEC lighting lock MBEC power seat window wire - (Aug 16, 2007)
Subject: Blown MBEC 1 or LBEC 1 Fuse

Models: 2003-2006 Cadillac Escalade, Escalade ESV, Escalade EXT
2003-2006 Chevrolet Avalanche, Suburban, Tahoe
2003-2007 Chevrolet Silverado Classic
2003-2007 GMC Sierra Classic
2003-2006 GMC Yukon, Yukon Denali, Yukon XL, Yukon XL Denali

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition/Concern:There have been reports of either the MBEC 1 or LBEC 1 maxi fuse blown intermittently and unable to locate a short to ground.

Recommendation/Instructions:If after normal diagnostics no shorts can be found the below items have been reported:

 1. "MBEC 1" Maxi Fuse 50 Amp (SI Document ID # 1242532).
If no shorts are located on circuit 642, inspect circuits 1340 after the "Rt Door" circuit breaker 25 amp and circuit 1440 after the "Seat" circuit breaker 30 Amp (SI Document ID # 1242687).

◦Inspect circuit 1340 shorted to ground near the right I/P support bracket.
◦Inspect circuit 1340 or 1440 shorted to ground on the support bracket for the I/P relay block/under the carpet.
◦Inspect circuit 1440 shorted to ground under or in either front seat.
◦Inspect circuit 1440 shorted to ground near the parking brake pedal assembly. The short may only occur if the parking brake pedal is depressed.
 2. "LBEC 1" Maxi Fuse 50 AMP (SI Document ID # 1242532).
◦If no shorts are located on circuit 42 inspect circuit 1240 after the "Lt Door" circuit breaker 25 amp (SI Document ID # 1242687).
◦Inspect circuit 1240 shorted to ground near the parking brake pedal assembly. The short may only occur if the parking brake pedal is depressed.
Note: Replacement of the circuit breaker is needed if a short to ground is found on circuit 3, 1240, 1340, or 1440.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.

Re: 05 tahoe lost power to seats and r windows

ckt 1440 is the one I saw a problem with. It took a while with customer driving it with a 25A fuse installed at pin A (c305) and a 20A at pin H (seat adjuster sw.). His wife drove it and came back with the 20A fuse blown. I found chaffed wire under driver's seat near the back of left track. Some heat shrink and a reposition solved it.
