First Project

I am new to the board, and want to share my new project. It is a 52 Chevy 3100. Right now it has the stock 235/3 spd in it. I know I want to do an engine swap. I have a 350 that I rebuilt 5 years back that has been on a stand waiting for the right vehicle to go into. I also have a 292 that needs a refresh that could go into this too. I have a 2004r out of a 1985 Olds 442 that I will be running with either engine. I am not looking to race this truck, just cruise back and forth to work. Here is what I am starting out with. It was painted like this when I bought it.

The only bad rust I found is in the cab corners.

I am still trying to figure out the suspension/frame. I like the idea of an s-10 frame, but this one is straight. I like the Scott's Hotrod Superslam IFS so that is a possibility. The rear is going to be a 4 link set up. That is a long ways off though. Hope you enjoy the pictures, I will be posting more as the build progresses. Thanks for looking.

Re: First Project

Looks like its in very good shape, except for the usual spots. Go with the 350 and the overdrive transmission. As long as the stock frame is good, use it. S-10 frames from what I am told need a lot of fabrication for cab mounts and what not. Good Luck!

Re: First Project

Welcome aboard! Keep the stk frame, go with a font clip or something. I've got a tci ifs on mine but it came with the trk. If it hadn't had it I would have used a Malibu, cutlass type clip. It seems like to me the Camaro's are a hair wider to me. Have fun with the build, we'll be watching.
