WTB: Dealer Stamped Rear Bumper

I'm looking for an old rear bumper for a 67-72 fleetside truck with the dealer name stamped into it. I'd like to find one that isn't beat up or too pitted. I'd prefer a Texas dealership (specifically in the Houston TX area or Paris TX) but am open to other locations. Also, shipping something this heavy would probably be rediculous so within a few hours drive of Houston would be great.

Here is an example of the type of bumper I'm looking for.

Re: WTB: Dealer Stamped Rear Bumper

Hi Ken, so I meant to take some pics yesterday of the bumper on my 71 Cheyenne but didn't get around to it. It's still mounted but I won't be using it, I plan on replacing with a chrome one eventually. I'll try to get pics today if possible. Just thought you might be interested, I'm in dallas. Matt

Re: WTB: Dealer Stamped Rear Bumper

Hi Matt, sure post a couple pics. I'd like to see it.

I see that you original posted to another thread where someone is looking for a similar (but slightly different) bumper. I'm looking for one with a dealership's name stamped into it. Let me know what you've got.

Thanks.
Chris

Re: WTB: Dealer Stamped Rear Bumper

It looks like it has been painted a couple of times, but no dealer stamping. It is bent in the middle of the top section, not too bad but hard to see in the pics.

Thanks for the pic Matt but I am specifically looking for one with a dealer stamp.

Hi Gary you would have to do some searching to find the answer to your question. There are a few threads here on the forum that discuss this type of bumper. I remember seeing OK, MO, Arkansas and TX. I don't think all states did this but am not sure.

Re: WTB: Dealer Stamped Rear Bumper

I'm pretty sure there are picnpulls in Houston, right?
Try there. You can check inventory online.
I think they usually mount to the outside of the frame rails so chances are earlier and later year GM will work. Maybe other mfgrs, particularly if you can rework the mount.

Re: WTB: Dealer Stamped Rear Bumper

Finally!!! The first one is probably meant for a step side. It was in back of a parts truck i bought. I bolted it on my teuck bed teaer for some protection. Its bent a little. Looks like someone backed into something.

Re: WTB: Dealer Stamped Rear Bumper

Heres the other. Its a "regular" fleetside step bumper. It is t rusted much but has some damage on the passenger side. It looks like someone hooked a chain on it and tried to pull wtih it. It has a tear and is bent upwards some. Let me onow if youre interested in either one and i can post more photos.

Thanks for the pics tsmith. That's a neat bumper but I am looking for one that fills up the area beneath the tailgate like the one in my original pic.

Thanks for the pictures WIDESIDE72. If that second bumper wasn't damaged it would be what I'm looking for.
