Re: differences between 70 and 71 Chev C-10

The Grille is very different between the two. The 70 uses the same outer grille as the 69 while the 71 and 72 grilles are very simlar. Also the side mirrors are different I beleive. Probably quite a few other differences also. I'm not sure when they went to disk brakes on the front. that could have been 71???

Front bumper is different too. 71 has signal light holes in it.

Re: differences between 70 and 71 Chev C-10

When I get home ill post a pic of the 70 I'm getting, but above are right. Different grill, 71 has five lug front and rear with front disc brakes. Also differences in the doors and such I think. Not sure. Also the bowtie was moved off the hood to the grill in 1971, 71 was the first year for Cheyennes instead of CST in 70. Hope this helps.

The door changed in 72 only change is a small screw hole to tie the inner and outer door skins together around the vent window.

1971 had a mounting pad stamped into the inner roof skin. It's unique except all replacement panels are based on the 1971 design.

That and the entire door panel was changed to hard plastic with integrated arm rest. '72 only.

My bad, I understood that they went to a one piece window in the doors in 1972, guess I was misinformed.

Do you have the original glove box door with spid sticker? If the sticker vin matches your vin look for the engine option on the sticker that will tell you what it had originally.

Also the bowtie was actually bolted to the hood, where as '71 it was back on the grill...(if I'm not mistaken...

69 and 70 have the big bowtie emblem on the hood. Far superior to the 71 where they moved back to the grill again.
