Today's bodywork will be contouring filler to match the existing grain.

The steering wheel and horn button are indeed 55-56. The two tone interior door panel suggests the truck is a GMC but a careful review finds a Chevrolet instrument cluster. The shifter indicates the truck was a three speed manual, most likely a six cylinder. And the three-leaved vines in the foreground tell me the photographer probably woke up with a very itchy rash!
