I hate to do it but due to a rare disease (Huntington's), I may have to sell all my truck. This will be the last thing I sale, I hope. But I'm going to Truck Carlisle to sell my garage full of parts and maybe my Blazer if I get it back in time. Since I am driving Goldie up there, if some one would offer me money, what price should I not turn down. It had the drive-train replaced with a 350 instead of the 307 that was in it. She is all original paint with very few dents. it goes down the road like a brand new truck. I bought her with 68k and she has 70k now. I added a 3/5 spring drop, factory tilt column, buddy buckets, and a used sport white rear bumper.
What's a good price? I know this truck has had alot of people talking from when I first got it.

Sorry you need to sell the truck, and I wish you the best of luck dealing with your Huntington's disease.

3 years ago I found out I had Parkinson's and so far it is progressing slowing for me. Every day can present new challenges, so I've learned to roll with the punches and take one day at a time.

I wish you all the best of luck and hope that your progression will be very slow as well.

Set the price at a number you feel you're not being taken for. No matter what price you put on it, someone will offer you less, so keep that in mind.

It's worth what someone will pay, so if you want $15k and the highest bid you get is $10k, you either live with the truck, or 10k.

You can always put it on ebay with a reserve. A couple of times I placed an item up and exclaimed what my reserve was, and I may be willing to sell the item even if it didn't meet the reserve. The results were great from that experience.

As far as selling the truck, here is what I would do:

First, do you have a set value policy on it? If so, the appraisal, while not accurate, is a good selling point.

While I won't disclose what my appraisal amount, it was definitely above my purchase price of $14500 for my 1967 last year. See my avatar for a pic. The truck has a fresh 350/350 trans combo, CPP lowering setup (think 5/6), tubular control arms, new seat cover. Some little dings, but all original paint and zero rust. It was sitting in Washington state...In Houston, it would have been a 20-25k truck. Location is also a selling point.

Second, I would make sure a link to the following youtube is on EVERYTHING you use as an ad...build on what one of the largest collector insurers is saying...remind people they are buying BEFORE the bubble. Should get you a few more dollars.

Third, concentrate on the one-year paint package. While not extremely rare, people like me enjoy having the unusual.

Finally, determine what that bottom dollar you feel comfortable with and live with it until you just have to sell. Someone was looking for my exact suburban earlier this year...I priced it at a price I was comfortable letting it go for-much lower than I thought it was worth-they didn't buy, but if they had, I would have been happy watching it pull away.

Good luck on your sale. It is a GREAT truck. Do you have the 307 btw? Might be nice to have it with the truck for a few extra $$.

With the Huntington's I can't make could decisions, that's why I need to have a firm idea of price before someone starts dealing with me. I'm off of work because I can not multitask anything. I can only do one thing at a time. The disease has effected my cognitive senses in my brain. Thanks for all the well wishes also.

Here's my opinion on worth:

You paid $5200 and everyone thought that was a steal.
The reserve was set at $8000? Was he wishing? Did he drop reserve to sell?
You installed $2000 worth of buddy buckets.
Drop and new rims/tires $1000?
Elbow grease and sweat equity $1000
More documentation I've seen on many trucks.
Patina original trucks are hot, hot, hot.

I'd see what the market feels about $9000 asking.

Don't worry about that attitude brother, when Im telling people I know what's going on with me, they say that I end cheering them up before we're done talking. Since there is no cure for it, when you sign the paper to get tested, you have to agree to go to counselling. My therapist is amazed at my wife's and me's attitude it.

Put it on eBay with a sky high reserve and see what the top bid is. That will give you a real solid number to go by, not just guesses and opinions.

MY son- in law has the same illness at the age of 31. He is holding his own and still has a positive attitude for now. keep your head up and press on.The truck is really nice, I wouldn't price it lower than $12k.. We will be thinking of you. Let us know how the sale turns out.

As to the value of your 68. I have to be honest and say it looks more like $8,000 to me. Could go to $10,000. I could be wrong, just trying to be honest. Like anything it's "what the market will bear.
Try "SearchTempest". Use 1968 as your search or C10 or something similar. It will search every list of craigs starting with your local list and keep looking farther and farther. Eventually you will see every list in the USA. You will have a real good handle on value of "Asking Price", not so much on selling though.
