frame vin need to decode pls

If all you have a is a vin from frame can you tell what year and type of truck it is for/from. mostly I am just curious.

I am told it is a GMC 1971 2500 2WD long box.

By doing a search and looking at other posting about vin decoding I located the partial frame vin but not sure what this would work out to be.

21519106

I thought it was long, maybe a chevy

My 71 GMC longhorn is frame : 1 28835 and the cab id is : CE234-1128835

ps I bought this frame for the wheels and cross member not to use the frame I know they are different.
