84 K10 Starter/Alternator Wiring
Help! I think I might of miss labeled my writers when I took out my 350 in my 84 K10...
Can anyone confirm where the 3 red wires need to land? They all connect to one ring lug and one of the 3 wires goes to the alternator plug... Wrote starter large pole on the tag but I'm looking around and don't see a positive cable from the battery to anything... Should this ring lug possible to to the battery and not the starter? Are there only 2 wires to the starter (heavy gauge ground cable from battery and light purple wire in hand to small post on starter)? |

Those two go to your starter lug along with your battery cable.

I found my answer. They do go to the large terminal on the starter and the light purple goes to the solenoid. I had some confusion about the positive terminal from the battery... it can happen if your looking for a red cable and it happens to be black lol.

The original routing is in a loom and they follow the alternator leads but then dive down behind the alternator, go under the head and run along the block to the starter.

Re: 84 K10 Starter/Alternator Wiring
Thanks for confirming. I'm going to shorten them and run them out of the loom straight to the starter from behind the motor. It should clean things up a bit only having 2 wires across the tip of the motor to the alternator.
