panhard bar diff mount

I bought an adjustable panhard bar which is 1.25". I have an aftermarket finned diff cover and the bar hit the fins. I ground off the fin area that was hitting but the bar still hits the cover. I tried adding a 1/8" washer behind the bar but it still hit. Adding any more washers and the nut doesn't have enough room for full thread seat. Does anyone make a longer stud for the diff mount?

Re: panhard bar diff mount

Put the stock cover back on.
OR
Swap to the bar and mount that mounts to the passenger trailing arm U-bolt.

I don't have stock cover and I like the aluminum one. Moving the bar to the other side won't work, the bar is too long and I'm not sure that the geometry would work anyway.

Re: panhard bar diff mount

Sounds like it is a different bar. Made for the pass side.

Re: panhard bar diff mount

Does your new bar attach to the original location on the differential?

I should have done more research on this purchase for sure. I ordered the bent one. I didn't even know that one existed.

It uses the stock bracket on the frame and the stud thing on the diff. Mounts the same way the stock one does but has adjustors on both ends. I will call you after dinner. It is made by Western Chassis in California. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1965-1972-CH...53.m2749.l2649
