VIN Decode

I have looked at the decoder sites, my VIN doesn't seem to fit into the format that is listed.

Cab looks to be a 67 because it has a small rear window. Can anyone help in the actiual decoding of this

VIN C9S1471106157

Re: VIN Decode

This is nice to save for reference.
Do you have a SPID sheet inside glove box. If legible post that too.

Re: VIN Decode

Thanks for the details, but there is no indication of the 2nd digit (9) on this decoder. any idea what it represents?

Is there anywhere in the VIN that determines the wheelbase in this year?

Re: VIN Decode

Something's not adding up with that vin
There is a blue and white sticker in the glove box
If you can read it post the numbers.
Wheel base should also be listed there.
115" shorty
127" long box

Re: VIN Decode

I have an early '67 that was made in Canada that has the same configuration. I just figured it was a Canadian "thing"???

Re: VIN Decode

I do not have the sticker inside the glovebox. In fact, there is no glove box cover when I purchased it.

It may be a Canadian thing, it doesnt make sence that the US and Canadian versions would use a different system, but anything is possible.

Re: VIN Decode

Correct. The 9 denotes GMC and the 1 after the 7 is the assembly plant 1 = Oshawa. Only Oshawa did GMC VIN's like that.(67-71)
The link in my signature will go to the thread where I originally posted my VIN and Model Number Decoders. I'm amazed at how many places online those Decoders show up, including eBay and craigslist.

Rockyrivermark, Did you realize when you posted those Decoders that they originated on this website?
