1967 C40 Rear Axle Rating?

Good evening everyone, I am working on a 1967 Chevrolet C40, and I need to replace a bad power brake booster, which is mounted under the cab. They want to know what rating the Rear Axle is in it, so I need your help. It is a 1967 C40, L6 292 engine, single rear axle with duals. The tag inside the drivers door jam says the truck is rated 16,000 lb GVWR. The tag that is inside the glove box says it is a Model CS41403, and I also see that it says "RR Spring 15,000 lb" on the tag, but I wasn't sure if this was refering to the Rear Axle rating or not, as I wasnt sure what the "RR" stands for. Can someone help me? What is the rating of the Rear Axle in this truck? Thank You

Brian

I recommend asking a moderator to move this to the Heavy Haulers section. That where the big truck big brains hang out.
Best of luck and welcome aboard from a fellow Pontiacer.

Re: 1967 C40 Rear Axle Rating?

As far as I know they are rated at 11,000#. I say this because it is the same rear, HO110, as was put under the C/30s with 11,000# axle option. I assume that is the rear axle they refer to. But, I just looked at RPO codes and what is listed as 11,000# is a front axle option. I/m not much help, but there is only one single speed rear for your truck, other than ratio options. I have a cab with SPID here for a C/30 w/11,000# axle option. This would have had the same rear, HO110 with 10-lug hubs. I'll see if that option code is the same as the front option code (F96), which is described as being the spring.

Ok, I looked further at RPOs and there is RPO H22 (6.17) and H23 (5.43), both single speed rears @11k#.
