Guy at our church has one like that on his truck. He loves it. Mostly use to get deer into the truck or his pirogue in and out.

If I lived around there, I would just go over and get it. It looks like it has modifications and the lid has been turned into extra bumper top surface area. It seems like it would be possible to reverse that modification and get it going again. Looks very interesting to me.

I have the pieces/parts from Harbor Freight but never put them together like Getter-Done.
I have a trailer made from an 8' Fleetside bed on a 3/4 ton axle that I intend on mounting it to. But it ain't electric -- and I'd never lower a living human with it.
It would be great for picking up an engine block at a junkyard and getting it in the bed w/o screwing your back up.

Thing weighs almost 400#. Does that seems like a lot to bolt on the end of a 1/2 Ton frame?

My '72 GMC has one of that design that came with the truck. Mine tucks in the recess of the bedside and extends over the wheelhouse and under the stake pocket. Not as HD as the one pictured. I love it!

The one on YouTube is best suited for a 1t with beefy steel bumper, like utility body

Hmm, interesting. I guess that would slow down my "just go over and get it". Go over there with several friends and heave it into the truck... Still interesting and still room for 600lbs of payload. I would put it on the truck and rig up a pulley system in the garage to allow it to lift itself down onto moving dollies and mount it back up when I want. If I got tired of having it around, and it were fixed into working condition with a lid and I could make a demonstration video of it working on a C-10, I would bet it would not be hard to sell for a profit. It may be better suited for a longhorn or C-20 but may be useful for some C-10 applications.

It is, but by the time I drove 6h round trip it wouldn't be ;-)

They're both used, btw. New they are upwards of $2100

OK. Nice country. I went to a wedding in Livermore about 23 years ago. Beautiful green rolling hills. Most unlike the Desert. The bride was the daughter of friends of my rider, a Tucson friend. I drove my '71 Jimmy, he kept me company. My purpose for going was a parts safari for rare K/5 parts. I got a Blazer windshield frame from a guy in Richmond and K/5 Hatch Latches and Relay Rods from a guy in Chinatown SF. Blazer/Jimmy parts were ''fished out'' in Southern Arizona even back then. Now, I'm more likely to find 67-72 Arizona Parts in a warehouse in NYC, than locally.
