I like your wheel choice. What size are they? Are you going to have to tub the bed to clear the rear tires?

Front wheels are 18x8 and rears are 20x10. I did have to tub the bed to get them to fit, just 3" on each side tho.

good god that is too much work for the cost of repops. But hey you gotta do what you gotta do.

Haha it wasn't that bad, took me about 2 hours per fender. I wasn't too happy cutting up $800 worth of fenders tho lol

Re: '53 duramax

Yeah, that would definitely suck! Nice repair on them though.

Looks good. I like the box, mini tubs. Sucks about the fenders, you would think new fenders would fit better than that. But great job at fixing them.

Thanks everyone! I hope to try to get the bed loaded up and set on tomorrow so it'll finally be a complete truck for once lol. I'm really pushing to get it done by August and take it out to the Scheid Diesel show in Indiana.

Very cool build. I'm doing a 12-V Cummins in my 55, but using a shortened and narrowed Ram 2500 frame. Yeah, no instuction manual for this stuff, just make it up as you go along. I've developed the mentality that it's just metal, you can pretty much re-do anything that doesn't work out to your satisfaction the first time. I've been modifying cars for drag racing for years, so it doesn't phase me any when something doesn't fit out of the box, just modify as needed and trudge on. Looks like you're working a pretty quick pace now. Just takes time and money, right?

Time and money is right! I did get the hood fixed some today, I think it's atleast workable now. Couple shims between the rad support and fender brace and I THINK I might be in business.

Yeah they're repops, and I replaced both side cowl pieces. I had to slit the whole length of the front fenders on both sides to get them to fit tight to the body. The hinges aren't on yet I left them at the house. Here's a pic of what I had to do to the fenders...

after:(even tho they're opposite sides you get the point)

Wow!, and I thought mine fit terrible. Where are you going to fit an intercooler?

Plenty of room for an IC http://i1010.photobucket.com/albums/...312_151420.jpg
it'll be right in front of the rad where the grill bumps out

got the bed set on today, pretty happy with the stance. I spoke too soon on the "plenty of room" for the intercooler, it is in fact going to be a tight fit. Not sure what I'm gonna do for it now lol http://i1010.photobucket.com/albums/...327_155437.jpg[/IMG]

Your truck is sweet bud. With a tuner in there it will be a beast! I kind of figured you were going to have a hard time with the intercooler. How about laying it under the cab about three four inches from the floor and then building a shroud on the bottom of it to "scoop" the air through it? Kind of like old corvette radiator principle. Maybe even adding an electric fan instead.

What size wheels and tires are you using.

Great build. I didn't realize Dirtymax's are reverse flow (I am a ford Diesel guy by trade). Looking forward to seeing this done.

18x8 up front with 245/45 and 20x10 rear with 275/40 tires, not sure of the bs anymore I'd have to measure or dig up receipts

There's not much room left under there anymore with that huge allison in there lol. I have some room where I can push the rad back toward the motor and make an IC approximately the same size of the rad. it'd be just a matter of piping then, and that shouldn't be terrible.
