Is the traditional way, reverse flow is heads first and block last.

It's coming together real nice. The stance looks great. I'm mounting my IC just behind the grill, not sure what the space difference is between ours and mine. Tight either way. Good luck

Can anyone point me in the direction of where these go? They're front fender braces. I got the truck in pieces so I'm learning as I go lol. Pics would be great if you could get some. Thanks!!!!

Thinking frame to rear fender just behind the tire.

The ones in your picture look like rear fender braces. The front fender braces are longer.

Re: '53 duramax

I'll get a pic of the tag and of the rear braces tomorrow

Re: '53 duramax

There is also a brace in the corner of the front fenders. Thought these looked too long? The image lower50's put up shows a brace behind front wheel too.

Re: '53 duramax

It's definitely not the engine compartment ones, these are too short and I'm not using them. Looks likes it's the ones behind the front wheel, just have to figure out how in the hell they go now, thanks!!!

Re: '53 duramax

I'm not running factory floors so it's possible I'm missing holes that these would mount to as well. I'll have to dig up the ebrake brace and see if there's anything on that it'd bolt to

Re: '53 duramax

That's funny the pic shows 2 different rods but only one #. I think the lower rod is still attached to that part of the fender I cut off, ill check tomorrow and take pic for you.

Re: '53 duramax

Thanks man! I'm not too incredibly worried about putting them on. The fenders are pretty damn solid without them!

Re: '53 duramax

If I remember one end of the rod bolts to the lower inner fender to firewall bolt and the other end over to the fender, there should be a hole there where it bolts to.

Re: '53 duramax

I run a bolt through my lower front fender into the running board, to add another bit of support.

Re: '53 duramax

Sorry I could not find the pieces. I must have chucked them last time I scrapped some metal. I was going to do what 99 said.

Re: '53 duramax

No problem bud, thanks for your help. I didn't mess with them at all today. Did get the the front end put back together and the cab bolted back down after we pulled everything off to pull the motor back out. I can't bolt my front fenders to the running board because there's about a 3/4" gap on both pass and driver sides. I'm not sure if it's supposed to fit tight or not but the gap is the same so it does bother me. Does anyone have any advice on how to adjust the middle section of the fenders? I'm not running the support bars because of my aftermarket firewall and the turbo on the duramax would be in the way.

Re: '53 duramax

it's not horrible but the hood isn't sitting on the rubber pads anywhere along the fender and if I put the 4 rubber pads on the hood latch panel it's even worse. http://i1010.photobucket.com/albums/...loads/Hood.jpg[/IMG]
