Some common parts needed when going very low on the front with these trucks are hood hinges and inner fenderwells. If you had a nice, clean way of doing that, I know a lot of folks would be interested. |

Jeph/Justin,
Got my package yesterday and mocked it up just now. I have a couple questions concerning the trans crossmember. Unless I have the brake assembly in the wrong position (it only can go one place if the holes are supposed to line up with existing holes in frame) I dont see how you can bolt on a trans crossmember. If the engine is in the forward position, there is no way you can get your crossmember bolted up because the frame bracket is using the trans x-member bolt holes. I will be putting my engine in the rear position and while it looks like I will be able to get my x-member bolted up, I am going to have to grind either the brake assmebly bracket or the trans x-member to make it fit. So take a look at these pictures and let me know if I did something wrong. In the pic, you will see the trans x-member in, but it needs to move forward to line up with the holes. |

One other thing...I was expecting to have to cut a hole in the floor for the MC, however with the MC lid off, the floor is hitting the booster, the top rear edge of the bracket, and is about 1/16" away from the part that the pedal shaft pivots on. In the second pic, you will see that the floor needs to come down 1/2" to hit the cab bushing.
My plan is to move the whole assembly down 1/2" and go from there. I'm going to have to weld up the holes on the bracket though. |

I'm not sure why these 2 bodies are different, but both the cabs in the shop are identical as far as the floor pan goes. We will make this right one way or another on Monday.
Seems there's a brace on your cab that is missing on our two? http://i353.photobucket.com/albums/r...y/DSC05896.jpg and you can see yours here has a brace.... http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/a...1&d=1227408625 |

Re: 67-72 Bolt in pedal assembly
yeah, Jeph, that is not a brace, that is the bottom of the floor pan just before it rolls up to the tranny hump.
Your picture is the same, it just looks different because of the angle of the photo. Thanks for the help on this. I wll talk to you soon. josh |

Re: 67-72 Bolt in pedal assembly
no problem jeph. I actually already redrilled the bracket so to move the assembly 1/2" down. So with that and figuring out that there is supposed to be 1/8" shims on top of the front cab bushings, my floor clearence issues are fixed.
So now, the bottom of the booster is exactly level with the bottom of the frame rail. My frame when layed out is about 1.5" off the ground, so I'm satisfied with that. |
