Firewall insulation - Options other than stock
Morning All,
The under dash firewall insulation in Woody has seen better days. I could repair it but wanted to hear what others had done to get a sound and heat barrier other than using the original pad. The cost of getting a new pad to the UK is not economic. Kilmat anybody? Let me know as I am a bit stumped. Thanks, P. :D |

I’ve been using Dynamat on all my builds, does the job, no excessive heat in the interior….my .02

Here's a thread from when I used Noico Red 315mil https://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/...d.php?t=814233 I ran that stuff all the up to the dash and then covered it with a re pop rubber firewall pad

The pictures are exactly what I was trying to get too - I intend to use KilMat as it is considerably cheaper than the alternatives and gets good reviews. My question, badly worded, was could it be used instead of the under dash pad and it seems you have done exactly that. Thanks for the reply, appreciate it. P. :D |

I used a kit made for our trucks from Flatline Barrier - https://www.summitracing.com/search/...&kr=1966%20C10
