Another mystery bracket? and some ?

1 Attachment(s)
As i work through this project I have come aceoos another bracket I can't seem to find in assembly manual or online, any ideas, it is the 90 degree bracket attached to inner quarter post?

Question 1: there is a bolt that holds elbow bracket for hard top to post missing, but there is no nut to attach to, should there be a cage nut on post?

Question 2: What size bolt holds the rear of back seat? Mine has 4 legs but no bolts

The 90 degree bracket was added by a prior owner and should be removed to allow fitment for the bedside to tailgate seal and it’s bracket.

There is a captured nut/nutsert that should be in place on the bedside to affix the top to bedside bracket. These commonly are broken loose/missing.

Can’t recall the bolt size off hand for the rear of rear seat but fwiw most 72s used a two bracket arrangement and these made use of seat belt bolts.

Front brackets use 7/16x 20x 1.5" bolts
rear brackets use 1/2"x 13x 1.5" bolts

What is the best way to fix? Cut out a patch including hole from post, then weld captured nut to patch and then weld patch back in to post?

Or do you remove post?

No weld option, cut a piece of 1/4 " plate, drill and tap the threads in correct location glue,/ polyurethane caulk in back through the slot. Square plate won't spin.

What year is your blazer, 69 and some 70s don't have the nut but if they didn't have the nut the top didn't have the elbow bracket. They make a nut that crimps into position and looks almost like original, I can get a picture if interested, all you'll have to do is drill a hole.

You could pop a nutsert in place: https://www.auveco.com/nutserts
